An ancient botanical coast, harvesting again.
Two thousand years ago, merchants sailing from Roman Egypt anchored at Malao, today’s Berbera, for myrrh.1 On the same coast we plan to grow, fillet and stabilise aloe vera and ship it to the Gulf, traceable to the plot it was cut from.

The fieldAloe barbadensis Miller
Drip-irrigated blocks in a semi-arid climate the plant was made for. Every block will carry a fixed plot reference, and its irrigation and input records will attach to the plot, not to the farm.

The thirty-six hoursCut to stabilised
Leaf will be filleted and stabilised within thirty-six hours of cutting, the window that governs aloin migration and gel quality.
We will pasteurise at 65 °C and never boil. Boiling destroys acemannan, the polysaccharide that gives the gel its value, and that is the difference between an ingredient and a feedstock.

The lotOne number, the whole chain
A lot number will be printed on every IBC, every drum and every Certificate of Analysis, resolving to a harvest date and a plot. Ask for any lot and we will show you the ground it grew in.
The specification, as a buyer reads it.
The standard we are building to. Each batch will be tested by an accredited third-party laboratory; in-house testing will control production, never replace the independent certificate.
